Robustness of Norgen’s COVID-19/Influenza (A & B) TaqMan RT-PCR Kit. A) PCR amplification (Ct values) of purified nasopharyngeal swabs were spiked with SARS-CoV-2, Influenza A and Influenza B viral particles at 3X LoD. B) PCR amplification (Ct values) of purified saliva samples were spiked with viral particles at 3X LoD. Various treatments with or the addition of interfering substances into nasopharyngeal (A) or saliva (B) samples did not affect the Ct values. In addition, Norgen’s COVID-19/Influenza Kit can detect viruses from nasopharyngeal or saliva samples with similar Ct values.

Freeze/Thaw Stabilty of Norgen’s COVID-19/Influenza (A & B) TaqMan RT-PCR Kit. Norgen’s COVID-19/Influenza Kit is stable for virus detection with at least 4 freeze/thaw cycles. SARS-CoV-2, Influenza A and Influenza B viral particles at 2X LoD and 5X LoD were spiked into nasopharyngeal swabs. The purified samples were detected using Norgen’s COVID-19/Influenza (A & B) TaqMan RT-PCR Kit which were subjected to 1, 2, 3 and 4 freeze/thaw cycles. Across 4 cycles of freeze/thaw, there was no apparent change in Ct values.
